Biographical information:
Things I've been doing lately:
I'm a professor of Toxicology in the School of Pharmacy & Phamaceutical Sciences and in the School of Public Health at the University of Colorado Medical Campus. I am also an ambassador for an international NGO that works in Africa, S.E. Asia and South America.
My family:
No family other than my brother who runs a professional theater company in Carbondale, CO.
Life experiences:
I have been priviledged to collaborate with researchers in 27 countries and have lectured in over 30 countries. However, the 6 years as Chief Toxicologist to the Israel Ministry of Health and having lived in Jerusalem during that time takes the cake!!!
My favorite memories of the good ole days:
All the teachers who joined the faculty at NMSH in 1964-65, some of whom were my college (U of F)friends - there were about 12 of us - in our early 20's. There was Dick Webb, Merri Mann, Linda Baskin, Rich Petty, Vic Anagnostis, Pete Quincy, Hank Harris, Jordan Sessler, Frank Maristany, Karen Warren, Returning to teach biology at NMHS 4 years after graduating from the U of F and being a colleague of all my special teachers like Ewing Edge, Elsie Nichols, Jack Brady, Fred Basnett, Edna Luck, on and on and on!!!! I could write a book about my student days and teaching days at NMSH.
My favorite things now:
Skiing, Reading, Snowshoeing, hiking, camping, working out, good movies, concerts, plays, living life to the fullest!!
My favorite books, movies and music:
Movies: Through the years - Little Big Man, Dances with Wolves, Avitar, Saving Private Ryan, way too many to list. Music: Every thing from classical, opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, even some modern country western, ethnic music like African harmonies and Israeli modern. Books: War and Peace, The Kite Runner, A thousand Splendid Suns, Poisonwood Bible (all of Barbara Kingsolver's books), The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Pillars of the Earth, World Without End, Empire of the Summer Moon, I Buried my Heart at Wounded Knee, and about 200 others.
